(Foley, AL.) – On Saturday, March 29, 2025, The Utilities Board of the City of Foley experienced a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) from a sanitary sewer manhole located near 1005 Almond Circle, in Foley, Alabama. The SSO was caused by a plug installed in the gravity sewer collection system during construction by the Developer. This segment was isolated during construction, and the plug was never removed by the Developer once the gravity sewer main was conveyed to Riviera Utilities.
1. Volume: 200 gallons
2. Destination: Overflow from the manhole entered into the storm drain, which feeds a tributary that ultimately drains to Wolf Creek.
A copy of the data submitted to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for this event is attached for reference.
