(Foley, AL.) – On Saturday, December 2, 2023, The Utilities Board of the City of Foley experienced a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) at the Pebble Creek Lift Station located at 1102 Melbourne Drive in Foley, Alabama. The lift station was hydraulically overloaded as a result of approximately 4 inches of rain in the area.
1. Volume: 44,400 gallons
2. Destination: Overflowed from the lift station to a tributary that ultimately drains to Bon Secour River.

The Utilities Board of the City of Foley responds to overflows in a manner consistent with state and federal standards. We urge residents to exercise caution using these associated bodies of water for recreational purposes, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught in these areas, and thoroughly wash their hands after handling any fish or seafood from these areas.
