(Foley, AL.) – On Saturday, January 26, 2025, The Utilities Board of the City of Foley experienced a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) at the Victoria Place Lift Station located at 2919 South Juniper Street in Foley, Alabama. This lift station was temporarily on a dry prime bypass pump as a result of damage to the control panel from power voltage fluctuations during the recent snow event. One of the ears on the Bauer fitting on the pump discharge broke resulting in an SSO into the adjacent ditch along South Juniper Street.
1. Volume: 10,000 – 25,000 gallons
2. Destination: Overflowed from the lift station to a tributary that ultimately drains to Wolf Creek.
A copy of the data submitted to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for this event is attached for reference.
